Text description provided by the architects. Located in Rovinj (Croatia), the Wellness and Spa Lone project is part of Hotel Lone, which is the first Design Hotel in Croatia. The development of spa businesses has been booming all over Croatia over the last few years giving us a possibility, as a mayor Spa design company in the county, to experiment with different design processes. The principal of minimalistic aesthetic present in the hotel inspired a contemporary, natural approach towards the Spa Lone, where the space design emphasizes extreme leisure and comfort with an artistic note.
The entire Spa is conceived as a spatial continuum connecting various functions, such as indoor pool, gym, sauna centre, hydro-massage pool and treatment rooms. There is a corridor where you can relax, experience cromotherapy on a long colored wall or just pass through enjoying the outdoor view.
Throughout the interior, basic white and black tones are applied, emphasizing the material and its texture. Black glass panels contrast with the dark granulated ceramic on the floor, while a white, shiny Barisol membrane illuminated with RGB light reflects scratched Italian marble. These basic colors match perfectly with the wide Barisol wall and ceiling, giviing the interior almost a surreal atmosphere with its multicolored surface. Wooden panels in treatment rooms give a soft and natural touch to the interior, almost anticipating the touch of a therapist on a client’s body.
